Functionality
In standalone mode, SmartTrack allows the user switch off or demobilize his/her vehicle by sending a simple SMS to the car. This checks car theft in the event that the car is stolen. As a fleet management solution, the system consists of a Monitoring Center, installed in your office or an online data-center, for management and control of your fleet; while a vehicle tracker unit installed in each vehicle. The Maps included with the monitoring center are up to date and fully annotated with details of all streets major locations and landmarks. Additionally SmartTrack Monitor is able to show the movement of a vehicle on the Map in real-time and also records where a vehicle has been. This makes it possible to learn driver routes, re-route vehicles to avoid certain situations like a congestion while driver excesses are curtailed. Implementation of a Fleet Management System will show marked reduction in expenditure on automotive fuel and maintenance costs.
